Edna Marie Singer (Edwards),

daughter of Charles Stewart Edwards and Josephine MacNeil Edwards born May 12, 1934 in Sydney Mines Cape Breton (NS) passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, Dec 20th, 2016 at Cranbrook Hospital.

Edna was predeceased in 1995 by her Loving Husband (Shirl Singer) of 40 years. As a mining family they moved extensively across Canada living in; Glace Bay, NS, Tilt Cove; NL, Springdale,

NL; Lynn Lake, MB; Saskatoon, SK; Hendrix Lake, BC and Calgary, AB eventually retiring in Creston, BC. After the death of her husband Shirl, Edna lived in Lethbridge before settling in Kimberley in 1998.

Edna was the third youngest of eighteen children consisting of ten girls and eight boys and is survived by three sisters (Ruth, Shirley & Betty) and one brother (Charles). Edna is also survived by her children Douglas (Pearl) Singer of Cranbrook and their children Jeremy and Nicholas and Doug’s sons Kerry and Kyle, Son Kevin of Prince Albert, SK; Son Allister (Donna) Singer of Kimberley and their children Zach and Natasha, Daughter Carla (Singer) Murray (James) of Bragg Creek, AB and their Daughter Danielle, Stepson Eldon Singer (Ella) of Whitby, ON and their Daughters Shelly

and Krista, and Step-Daughter Sharon (Singer) Hughes (Gary) Quispamsis, NB and their Daughters Elizabeth and Natasha, and numerous Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchilden.

The Family held a Celebration of Life at the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Kimberley on Dec 28th, and wish to gratefully acknowledge the Nurses and Caregivers at the Cranbrook Hospital who cared for Edna during her extensive stay

at the hospital, particularly the care given to ensure her comfort during her final days in palliative care.
