Doyle Conrad Bower passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook at the age or 67.

Doyle was born and educated in Edgewater, BC where his parents Phyllis and Dalbert owned and operated Edgewater Dairy. Doyle was a Boy Scout in his youth and became a honourary Queen Scout. He played basketball and his team the Lakers rose from last place to Senior Boys EK Champions in the 1970 Provincial Games. After Doyle graduated from high school he worked and saved enough money to travel to Europe for a year with his friend Ken Stuart. Once back in Canada, Doyle moved to Vernon and drove a logging truck and learned to fly his own plane. He owned several planes during his lifetime. Flying was Doyle's passion and he made trips across Canada to the USA and many Canadian flights.

Doyle apprenticed to become a lineman and went to work for BC Hydro for a while until he and a partner formed their own powerline company Arrow Installations and they subcontracted for BC Hydro and built many powerlines in the East and West Kootenays. At this time, they felt a need for a truck wash so built the Cobham Truck & Car Wash which they owned and operated. From there Doyle and his partner bought the Columbia Salvage and renamed it Columbia Recycle and Doyle managed this company until he had a stroke in 2006. After leaving there, Doyle and his partner continued other business ventures up until his passing.

In retirement, Doyle travelled to many countries with great friends and family. Doyle will be sadly missed by his wife Sharon; his mother Phyllis; their three sons Brent (Oxana), Ward (Tammy) and Heath (Shirley); 8 grandchildren Jessie (Alison), Tanya (Tim), Fawn, Summer (James), Brooke, Randy, Macalister and Maximillion; 9 great-grandchildren Jaxon, Emery, Quinn, Vanek, Isabella, Sierra, Danica, Kylie and Norah; aunts on his father's side, Clara and cousins Darci, Kelly, Sherry (Bob) and Janie, Lois and cousins Mike (Paris), Margaret, Melvin (Denise) and family and his cousin Herb Bower (Val) and their families; relative on his mother's side, Sylvia (George) and family, Phyllis and families, Barb and family and Wayne's and family; his uncle Gordon and his children Chris and Eric and their families; and his aunt Elaine and her children Kitty and Patricia and their families.
