Dorothy Tew passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024 in Cranbrook, BC. Born on February 2, 1941 in Foam Lake Sask., Dorothy lived a life full of love, passion, and dedication to her family and her many interests.
A talented hairdresser, Dorothy made many friends and brought joy to many lives through her work. She was also a passionate gardener, finding peace and beauty in her garden. Dorothy was a skilled seamstress, creating beautiful pieces with her hands, and an avid bingo player, enjoying the camaraderie and excitement of the game.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alban Tew, whom she married on August 6, 1962, and by her parents, Inez and Wilson Abtosway. She was also predeceased by her brother and sister, Elaine and Dexter. Her memory will be cherished by her children, Leonard Tew and his wife Amanda, and Lynda Featherling and her husband Aaron.
Dorothy also leaves behind her siblings, sister Joyce (Clifford) and brother Bob. She is remembered lovingly by her five grandchildren: Mark (Dusty) Featherling, Neil (Krista) Featherling, Shelby (Donovan) Pfeifer, Lee Featherling, and Jordyn (Josh) Lethbridge. Her ten great-grandchildren, Riley, Hailey, Caydants, Damen, Bryah, Atlin, Brandon, Ryan, Mykenna, and Emmett, will carry on her legacy of love and warmth.
Dorothy's life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and the joy found in simple pleasures. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
