Doris Doreen Harness was promoted to glory on Friday, February 8, 2019.

Born October 30, 1931 to Paul and Molly Beach, Doris was the 8th child of a family of 10. Doris spent the majority of her life in nursing. She became a soldier of the Salvation Army at the age of 16; and went to S.A. Training College in Toronto and was commissioned in 1953.

Doris married George Rhodes and had three children who predeceased her; Richard Douglas, Mary Lynn and James Arthur.

Doris was predeceased by her husband George and married Ralph Harness. Ralph and Doris spent 35 wonderful years together before Ralph was promoted to glory.

Doris' greatest loves were her family and time spent with the S.A. in her many capacities.

Doris will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Rocky, Paul and Melissa, her great-grandchildren Destinee, Xavier, Khaliyah and KataLeah, her 2 living brothers Bud and Jim Beach plus many nieces and nephews.

Doris came from a musical family and was an accomplished player of the piano and the guitar, and played in the church for many years.

A celebration of Doris' life will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Salvation Army Church in Cranbrook.
