It is with deep sorrow that the family of Donna Phyllis Lynes announces her passing on March 20, 2021. Donna passed away peacefully at her family home with her son Chris and life partner Bill by her side.
Donna was born in Kimberley, British Columbia on January 25, 1951. Soon after meeting her life partner of 50 years Bill Parkin they moved to Richmond, B.C., where Donna began her lifelong career with Canada Post. Before returning to Cranbrook, Donna and Bill had their only son; Chris Parkin - Her long awaited pride and joy. Donna continued with her career at Canada Post for a total 45 years before her retirement.
Donna was loved by all she met. She had a huge heart and cared deeply for her family, friends, and colleagues. She would always go above and beyond to ensure everyone around her was happy. Donna was fond of nature and enjoyed spending her time gardening or enjoying the wildlife right in her backyard.
Donna will be incredibly missed by all who had the opportunity to know and be a part of her life.
She is survived by her lifetime partner, Bill Parkin, son Chris Parkin, brothers Bill Lynes, Dennis Lynes, Mike Lynes, sisters Betty Tshchetter (Lynes) and Debbie VanGradulewski.
There was a private family service Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 1 pm.
