With heavy hearts, we are saddened by the loss of Donna Marilyn Hay in the early hours of Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook.


Donna was born in Calgary, Alberta on July 8, 1944 to Dan and Hilda Morasch. She was their only child. Donna grew up in Calgary. She had a passion for travelling, being outdoors and scrapbooking and very much loved her family. She met Brian Hay in 1970 while visiting a girlfriend in Kimberley and her love of travelling introduced her to the love of her life! Brian and Donna were married in Calgary in October of 1971. They made their home in Kimberley where their son Greg was born. Donna was a retail and hospital pharmacist for over thirty years. In 2011 Donna was diagnosed with Cancer.


Donna is survived by her loving husband Brian, son Greg (Tracy) and beloved grandson Greyson; mother-in-law Blanche Hay; sisters-in-law Kathy (Kurt), Deanna (Don) and Sandy; nieces Natalie and Melissa; nephews Ben and Davis; cousins Roger (Karen) and Jim (Lori); and many good friends as well.


A private family graveside service will be held at the Kimberley Cemetery. A Celebration Of Donna’s Life will be held in the Kimberley United Church hall on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Donna’s memory can be made to the: Cancer Research Society: www.crs.src.ca.
