Donna Diane Burlingham

1943 – 2016

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of Donna Burlingham announces her passing at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook on Thursday, October 27, 2016 surrounded by loved ones.

Donna was born on August 12, 1943 in Cranbrook. She met her husband Ray in 1958 in Cranbrook. Donna worked for many years at Canadian Pacific Railway. Family was the most important part of Donna’s life. She would light up when her grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit and would always talk about how proud she was of them. Donna will be remembered for her love of camping and fishing, playing cards and visiting with friends. She enjoyed trips to the casino where she could be found at the slot machines.

Donna is predeceased by her mother Jean, father Harry, daughter Cheryl and her sisters Lynne and Faye. She is survived and dearly missed by her husband Ray of 56 years, daughter Wendy (Evan), son Terry, grandchildren Justin (Jayme), Chelsey (Dale), Jessica and Donielle, sisters Raye (Don) and Lori (Lee), brother Jim, brothers-in-law John and Lynn, her great granddaughters Lacey, Sierra and Tiffany, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and a great nephew.

Mom, we will miss and love you forever. This is not good-bye, it is see you later.

A memorial service for Donna will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in her honour may do so to the: Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon, Okanagan/Kootenays Area Office, #4, 1551 - Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, British Columbia, V1Y 9M9.
