Passed away peacefully at the age of 81, after a life filled with family, love, laughter, and books.
Born in New Westminster, to George and Marion (Nee Phelan) Miller, Don was the eldest brother to five sisters. Married to Linda (Nee Pook) for 54 years, they began their life together in Kamloops, then returned to New Westminster, before moving to Grand Forks, and finally settling in Cranbrook in 1984.
Don trained as a teacher, but soon left that profession, working an assortment of jobs, until he found work at the BC Ministry of Social Services. His career there lasted for many years until his retirement, which allowed for more time to be spent tending his much loved gardens.
A quiet, contemplative spirit, Don, was full of wisdom and a treasury of knowledge. He had the soul of a scholar and a heart for the Lord. He was a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend.
Don was predeceased by his parents, infant son Paul, and sister Bernadette Burroughs. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Rebecca of Cranbrook; sons, Drew (Brie) of Victoria and Kevin (Madison) of Toronto; his grandchildren, Emme, Lucy, and Fred; His sisters, Wendy (Terry 2012) Killoran, Marnie (David) Ridout, Colleen (Ray) Branson, and Heather Weel, as well as nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 1:30 pm, at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook, BC.
