On the blades of her figure skates, twirling free once again, the family of Dolores wishes to announce her peaceful passing on July 12, 2019 at the age of 87.
At an early age mom fell in love with figure skating and it remained her passion throughout her life. She was a member of the Cranbrook Figure Skating Club for 32 years and was also a judge for many figure skating events in the East and West Kootenays. She loved her time ice dancing with her good friend and skating partner Gary Anderson. Mom also loved playing her piano and attending ballet and symphonies.
Dolores also enjoyed sewing, swimming and camping at Kootenay Lake, she also looked forward to the monthly lunches with the swimming and visually impaired groups.
Dolores is survived by her daughter Carolyn Cawte, sons Douglas (Lynn) and Kenneth, her loving grandchildren Craig (Chantelle), Jennifer, Aaron (Danielle), Jamie (Brittany), Nicole, Christopher and Meagan. Also, her eight great grandchildren Curtis, Kendall, Keira, Hayden, Wyatt, Nikolai, Natalya and Annie.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Ian, her parents Earl and Evelyn Rutledge and her brother Bob.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors that provided exceptional care during her stay in the hospital.
To honor Mom's wishes there will be no service.
