David was born on August 30, 1956 in Vancouver, BC. He was the seventh of ten children born to A. J. “Jim” and Mary Stang. The family moved to Marysville when David was young. He attended school in Marysville and Kimberley. He then joined CP Rail and worked for the railway company for over 35 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, travelling and cooking. David was a kind and caring individual and enjoyed giving to various charities.
David is survived by seven siblings James (Marion), Don (Roxanne), Shirley, Len (Connie), Susan (Bob), Kathy (Dave), Marie (Rod) and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. David was predeceased by his parents A. J. “Jim” and Mary, brothers Ken and Mike and brother-in-law Dan.
The family would like to thank all of the caring staff in the Oncology Unit and at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.
There will be a graveside service for David on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Marysville Cemetery at 3:00 pm. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honour of David can do so to their charity of choice.
