Claire was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Ed Lewis (2015), her first husband John Cale (1972) her brothers Joe Roshau, Robert Roshau and sisters Minnie Geiger, Mag Fennessy and Sister Rose Roshau.
Mom was born in Senate, Saskatchewan and moved with her family to Wasa in 1945. Her married life started in Ta Ta Creek and she later moved to Kimberley and finally to Cranbrook in 1970. She worked throughout her life while raising her five children and retired after managing a clothing store in the Cranbrook Mall. Family was a huge part of her life and she was fortunate to have so many relatives living in or near Cranbrook.
Over the years she had many hobbies including bowling, bingo, crocheting, sewing, playing cards and travelling in earlier years. A devout Catholic, she attended church regularly and took great comfort and strength through her religion. She will be remembered for her quick laugh, her enjoyment of the simple pleasures in life and her easy going nature.
A special thank you to Dr. Dawson for the care and compassion she received over the years. Also, we give a heartfelt thank you to the 3rd floor nursing staff at the Hospital in Cranbrook for going above and beyond in caring for her during her stay. They were amazing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Kootenay Foundation for Health https://ekfh. ca. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 39 – 10th Avenue South in Cranbrook, BC.
