With deepest sorrow we announce our Mother, Catherine Grant passed peacefully on November 5, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Mum was greatly loved and will be truly missed by her family and friends. Her sense of humour, enthusiasm and positive attitude will be carried close to our hearts.
Throughout her youth, Catherine could often be found on the Scottish golf courses with her father and brother, something she continued on with in Canada until her nineties. Her love of sports shone, whether participating or watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom were all truly highlights in her life.
In 1964 Mother immigrated to Dartmouth, Nova Scotia with our Dad, Alan Stewart and started her Administrative School Career. Tragically, our Father passed away in Ontario in 1975. In 1980, Mum was fortunate to meet a second wonderful man, Stewart Grant, whom she married in Montreal and eventually travelled to Cranbrook with and enjoyed many wonderful years.
Catherine is survived by her children Marjory (Tom), Alan (Carol), Ann (Doug) and stepdaughter Pat (John). Her life was enriched with seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Catherine’s years living with Stewart in Sunshine Meadows and Joseph Creek were enhanced by the many friends they cherished.
The family would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Rolandi and the caring nursing staff at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook. In keeping with Mum’s wishes, a Memorial Golf Tournament will be held in the summer of 2017 to celebrate the life and times of a Wonderful Woman.
