It is with sadness that the family of Beryl Stremel announces her passing at East Kootenay Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, surrounded with the love of family and friends.

Beryl was born to Jean and William Francis in Princeton, British Columbia on October 19, 1936. As part of a pioneer family and the second eldest of five children, she grew up with many adventures and lifelong stories about a small town.

Beryl met the love of her life George and they were married in Kelowna B.C. in 1954. They moved around BC and raised five children in mining communities such as Princeton, Silver Creek, Beaverdell, Riondel and finally stopping in Kimberley in 1972. They shared many happy times in the outdoors, gardening and a keen sense of local and provincial politics.

Gram’s proudest and happiest moments were spent with family and friends around a Sunday dinner table.

Beryl is survived by her four children; Bruce (Janie), Howard (Brenda), David, Kathy (Ted). Nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Sister Anne (Emilio) Brother Glenn (Polly). Along with many extended family members and friends. Beryl is predeceased by her loving husband George 2012, son Colin 2011 and sister Dora 2014

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff and residents of Gardenview Village for their care and friendship. As well as the wonderful team at the Regional Hospital for the compassionate care during her illness.
