In loving memory ~
It is with sorrow we announce the passing of Barbara Merle Hogan at the Dulcina Hospice in Calgary, Alberta on April 27, 2022, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Barbara and her husband Jack were long time residents of Cranbrook but relocated to Calgary in 2017 to be closer to family. Barbara was a very disciplined and determined individual she survived ovarian cancer in 1995 and a heart attack in 2013. She had many interests, but her favorites were curling, walking, bingo, reading and knitting. She was a member of the Cranbrook United Church and enjoyed volunteering in the thrift store. She was very social and made new friends after she moved to Calgary. She enjoyed living independently until the last month of her illness.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents Lila and Stanley Thomlinson, her husband of 61 years, Jack (2018), her brother Edwin (2013) and her son Bruce (1977). She is survived by her sister Norma Suttis of Langley, her sister-in-law Ruth Skelton of Calgary, her sister-in-law Dorothy Durham of Jaffray, her son John Hogan (Ricki) of Campbell River, her daughter Kathy Erhardt (Vaughn) of Calgary, grandchildren Anthony Erhardt, Jeremiah Erhardt, Matthew Erhardt (Stephanie), Sean Erhardt, Amanda Almerol (JP), Tim Hogan and great-grandchildren Yulia Almerol, Nina Almerol, Wilbur Erhardt and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
