We are sad to announce that Barbara Anna Maria Reinarz passed away in her 66th year, with family at her side, at East Kootenay Regional Hospital on February 7, 2014.
Barbara was born on May 24th, 1947 in Voorburg, Netherlands. She immigrated to Canada in 1972, and eventually settled on the Stella Ranch in Wasa, BC. For all those that knew and loved Barbara, she defied categorization - a unique soul who was the most talented of artists, with an extraordinary toughness and capacity for love for all creatures “great and small!” She was a force of nature who touched many around her and will be missed beyond words.
Barbara is survived by her partner Graydon, two sisters Marijke and Eve, six brothers Fred, Tom, Felix, Steven, Florian and Marc, three daughters Maja, Britta and Ulla, uncle Frank, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents Andreas and Josephine and older brother Michel.
We would like to extend special thanks to everyone at The Pines in Kimberley, and the wonderful doctors and nurses who helped my mother at East Kootenay Regional Hospital. They do amazing things with all too few resources.
