In loving memory ~

Al passed away on March 21, 2024, at the age of 92. He was born in Notch Hill, B.C., the second child of Wasyl and Anna Myndzak.

Al was predeceased by his wife Gladys. He is survived by their children, Scott (Raeleen), Val (Don), and Kelly, and by grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also survived by youngest brother, Johnny, with brothers Karl and Rudy having predeceased him.

Al is also survived by his second wife, Joan, and children, Mark (Kathryn), Derek (Paula), David (Julie) Zimmerman, and Laura (LaRoi) Carter, also grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Since the 50's, Al has been involved in the pulp and paper industry. For more than 20 years "Big Al" enjoyed his work at the Skookumchuk Crestbrook Mill as a Production Manager. His strong friendships with Lyal Nelson and others from that time has continued over the years.

For many years, Al served as a member of the Cranbrook Lions Club. He was also a member of Cranbrook First Baptist Church. He enjoyed many sports activities.

In the final weeks of his life, Al was extremely grateful for the care he received at Cranbrook Hospital. We wish to express our own thanks to his doctors, nurses and caregivers at Cranbrook Hospital, with a special thank you to Dr. Ashlee King.

At Al's request, there will be no funeral. There was a small gathering recently for the interment at Cranbrook cemetery.
