Nominations have now closed for Cranbrook's Woman of the Year, and the local club of the Canadian Federation of University Women is deliberating on the recipient.

The CFUW's Cranbrook branch said two very strong and lengthy nominations came in before the deadline on Friday, February 14.

"Making the decision will be very difficult for the committee members," said Cathryn Henley, Chair of the club's Woman of the Year Committee for 2014. "We hope to have a decision made by early this week and will announce the recipient as soon as possible.

"It is hoped that we can celebrate this 30th anniversary of the award during the week leading up to International Day of Women which falls on Saturday, March 8."
