Two drug traffickers, one from Cranbrook and the other from Kimberley, were recently sentenced in court.
Monty Carlson was sentenced to six months in jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking. He was arrested on April 27, 2012 in Kimberley. At the time he had 11 grams of cocaine on his person. In addition to jail time he is prohibited from possessing firearms for 10 years.
On October 12, 2012, Kohl Von Wittgenstein was arrested in Cranbrook and a search located seven hits of LSD. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and received a nine month conditional sentence. During that time he must abide by a number of conditions including not to leave his residence between 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. He also is prohibited from possessing firearms for 10 years.
Officers in both Kimberley and Cranbrook continue to target those involved in the drug trade. There are always a number of active investigations.
