272 members of Mount Baker Secondary's Class of 2014 attend Commencement Exercises Thursday, June 26. Tonight — the Prom!

Valedictorian Marlize Fourie (in front), Class Historians Ryan Grady (to Fourie’s left) and Dan Sebben (to Fourie’s right) and the other 269 members of  Mount Baker Secondary’s Class of 2014, pause for a reflective moment before entering Western Financial Place for the 2014 Commencement Exercises, Thursday, June 26. After the graduates’ entrance, the welcome was given by Mount Baker Principal Jason Tichauer. O Canada was performed by the Mount Baker Vocal Jazz Ensemble and the Honour Song by Eagle Bear Spirit. Katie Elder, winner of the Sam Steele Sweetheart Speech competition, served as Master of Ceremonies. The invocation was given by Shannon Ryan, Hannah van der Roest and Danika Reid. School District 5 Superintendent Lynn Hauptman gave greetings, and Mr. Tichauer, Mr. Dan Noble and Mr. Dave Hill then introduced the Class of 2014 and presented them with their graduation scrolls. Grady and Sebben provided the Historians’ message, and Fourie the Valedictory Address. The Grand March, to end the evening, was “Best Day of My Life,” by indy rock band American Authors. Tonight the Class of 2014 celebrates with Mount Baker’s 44th consecutive all-night prom, to be held at the College of the Rockies. To all members of the Class of 2014, congratulations, and may you all find success in all your aspirations.
