RCMP teaming up with social media expert

Police join other local groups in bringing Jesse Miller to town, who will speak about the perils of social media.

Cranbrook RCMP is teaming up with EK Division of Family Practice, Doctors of BC, SD5 and the Child and Youth Mental Health & Substance Use Collaborative to bring Jesse Miller to Cranbrook for an evening at the Key City Theatre.

Jesse Miller is a respected and highly sought after national speaker on topics of social media awareness, social networking behavior and online content evaluation.  The evening session at the Key City Theatre will focus on learning more about digital citizenship, media literacy, informed and safe social media use and parent participation in their children’s social media lives.

Mr. Miller will also be attending Laurie Middle School and Parkland Middle School in Cranbrook as well as Selkirk Secondary School in Kimberley to speak with the grades- 7-9 about digital citizenship, positive use of social media and the balance of use of mobile technology.

Mr. Miller will be at the Key City Theatre at 6:30pm on January 12th, 2017 for a free presentation about social media and how we, as parents, can assist our children in navigating the social media world.  We would ask that people attending bring a non-perishable food item for the Cranbrook Food Bank.
