Early Tuesday morning the Cranbrook RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the Wycliffe area.

Police investigates and found the vehicle with two occupants, a man and woman, sleeping inside. Upon further investigation it was determined that the vehicle and a number of items in it were stolen out of Alberta. The items included a number of firearms, one of which was loaded.

The man and woman, both from Alberta, were taken into custody without incident and a number of charges are being considered at this time. Police continue to investigate the incident.

"Reports of suspicious vehicles can often lead to other investigations such as this," Cranbrook RCMP said in a press release. "Calls from the public to the police are always appreciated when something out of place is observed in their neighborhood"

The RCMP would also like to remind the public to keep their property out of sight and secure from thieves, to always record serial numbers, make, model, color of your belongings and keep those records in a safe place at home. Good record keeping can greatly assist police with retrieving and returning stolen property to the rightful owners.
