Cranbrook city council has given the Salvation Army approval to move ahead with the construction of a new warehouse building on their property at 533 Slater Road NW.

The Salvation Army is hoping to link the proposed warehouse—which will have an improved processing and storage area for the Thrif Store, a new food preparation and storage area for the Salvation Army ministry and an area for mechanical/janitorial services, washrooms and shower facility — to their existing building.

The new warehouse, a one-storey structure, will be a 5,000 square-foot facility and will also include a separate structure to serve as a utility shed and storage garage.
