Shoppers brought home a bounty of goods and produce at the first Cranbrook Farmers Market of the year on May 11.
Local farmers sold the earliest crops of the season like asparagus, herbs and leafy greens and vendors marketed clothes, kitchenware, jewellery, alcohol and art.
The market coincided with the Kootenay Children’s Festival this year, and visitors wandered between the two events, watching lively performances, and treating themselves to nibbles like popcorn and churros, and refreshing popsicles.
The market will be running Saturdays May 11 to June 8 and June 22 to Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on 10 Ave. South.
There will be a Spirit of the Rockies market on June 16, a Canada-Day market on July 1, an Ed Fest market on Sep. 6-7, and a Halloween market Oct. 26.
