Manslaughter trial set for January

Brian Panebianco will have a trial in Cranbrook Supreme Court over charges related to the Invermere death of Cory Jarock

A trial by judge and jury will be held in Cranbrook next January for a man charged in connection with the April 2012 death of Cory Jarock in Invermere.

Charged with manslaughter, Brian Panebianco will have a trial in Cranbrook Supreme Court from Jan. 14 to 24, 2014.

The trial date was set in Cranbrook Supreme Court by Justice Terence Schultes on Monday, September 23.

Panebianco is out on bail awaiting the trial and did not appear in person for the brief court hearing Monday.

He has been charged with manslaughter, criminal negligence causing death, robbery, and assault causing bodily harm.

Cory Jarock was found deceased on the driveway of a home in the Tunnacliffe Heights neighbourhood of Invermere on April 3, 2012.
