The Cranbrook RCMP arrested a man at around 7:30 p.m. September 7, after responding to a suspicious vehicle call in the 3rd Street NW area.

After approaching the truck in question, police noticed that its ignition had been punched out and found a man sleeping inside the vehicle.

After arresting the man for possession of stolen property, they brought him to Cranbrook lock up. Once he was in a cell, they realized that he already had a warrant out for his arrest for Apprehension, Suspension and Recommitment to Custody of Statutory Release for parole related offences.

The 43-year-old male has a criminal record featuring over 90 convictions and currently remains in police custody pending a court appearance.
