Kimberley Alpine Resort to open for early preview weekend

Thanks to the massive early-season snowfall and the hard work of their team, Kimberley Alpine Resort will open for an early preview weekend, one week ahead of opening date.

Skiers and snowboarders rejoice, Kimberley Alpine Resort (KAR) will open for an early preview weekend on December 7 and 8, courtesy of this early season onslaught of snowfall, ahead of their Dec. 13 season opening date. 

"Combine the incredible snowfall with extensive summer grooming and brushing, this is going to be one of the best early opening preview weekends in recent history," said Powder Matt Mosteller. "This community has such incredible passion for skiing/riding, and supporting the importance of getting outside in winter for physical and mental health benefits." 

KAR general manager Christine Schultheis gave a huge shout-out to the entirety of their team, who have been working around the clock to make this early opening preview possible.

"The crew has been busy track packing, snow making and getting ready for opening, and with 120 centimetres snowfall to date, we have incredible early season conditions."

"We want to thank the community who ski and ride with us for all your support. We have some very exciting news to share - we have added not only new snow-making guns, but most importantly a brand new Prinoth Snow Cat. The new Cat is designed to meet 'Stage V' emission standards which operates in a more environmentally-friendly way."

The resort will open for the regular season on Dec. 13. 

See below for Guest Services hours for season pass pick up and processing:

Dec. 4 to 6    10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Dec. 7 and 8    8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Dec. 9 to12    10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Dec. 13 to April 6   8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
