Leader John Horgan and the BC NDP MLAs will be in Cranbrook Monday, Sept. 19, for one of the party’s monthly caucus meetings.
Horgan’s Press Secretary Sheena McConnell said the party holds caucus meetings every month when the Legislature’s not in session, just so the caucus get get together and meet on issues.
“We’ve been travelling around with it, so we could go to areas where we don’t have representation, and hear from people in those areas what their concerns are,” McConnell said. “By holding caucus meetings in Cranbrook — or Prince George, or Kamloops — we can hear from different parts of the province we don’t always hear from.”
According to the BC NDP website (www.bcndp.ca/events) “and the entire team of BC NDP MLAs” fare appearing at the Key City Theatre in Cranbrook “for drinks, snacks and a lot of politics on Monday, September 19th.”
The website says Horgan will be offering thoughts on the upcoming 2017 provincial election campaign.
The event, which begins at 6 p.m., is a ticketed event, with all donations going to the Kootenay East constituency. Currently, Randal Mcnair of Fernie and Norma Blissett of Cranbrook are in the running for the Kootenay East NDP nomination.
