High school hoops teams head to provincials

Mount Baker sending boys and girls teams to vie for provincial championship next week.

High school hoops squads from around the province will be converging on Langley for the upcoming provincial championship next week.

Hosted by the Langley Events Centre, the girls provincial tournament, which features 17 teams, will kick off on Wednesday, March. 4th.

The Mount Baker Secondary School Wild, coached by Al Nutini, will take on W.J. Mouat—a school out of Abbotsford—in the very first game.

After the girls tournament wraps up, the boys will take their shot at provincial glory. The MBSS Wild, led by head coach Shaun Penner, will take to the court on March 11th.
