RCMP are reporting that a suspicious substance believed to be responsible for the canine deaths in the Community Forest is not poison.

Cranbrook RCMP seized a large quantity of drugs and arrested four people after executing a search warrant on Wednesday evening in Cranbrook.

S/Sgt. Hector Lee says that members of the Crime Reduction Unit, General Investigation Section and General Duties made the drug bust in the 1500 block of 1A St. South as part of an ongoing investigation.

A substantial amount of cocaine, heroin, marijuana and cash was seized by police, while four people — two men and two women — were arrested.

One of the men, a 22-year-old who is not from Cranbrook, will be facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The other three, who are from the Cranbrook area, will be charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The resident of the apartment is currently being held to undergo a bail hearing.
