Five of the eight bikes that were stolen from Mount Baker Secondary School have been recovered, RCMP are reporting.
“Over the past couple of weeks, the Cranbrook RCMP has been able to recover five of the eight bikes that were stolen from Mount Baker Secondary School,” says Cst Katie Forgeron said in a release Monday, March 11. “A member of the Enhanced Response Unit with the Cranbrook Detachment was able to locate four of the stolen bikes while the fifth was located during patrols in the city.”
On February 23, a secure shed at Mount Baker Secondary School was broken into and eight bikes stolen. The bikes were foruse by students in the Outdoor Education Program put on by the high school.
The bikes stolen include Trek Marlins, Specialized Pitch, Giant Trance and Giant Reign.
“Cranbrook RCMP is thankful to residents who provided video and sightings of the bikes. We are happy to have found five but would love to help the high school out and get all eight back.
“We are still hoping to recover the remaining bikes. Two red and one black Trek Marlin are still missing,” Forgeron said.
