Two familiar faces will be returning to the helm of the RDEK next year, as board chair Rob Gay and vice-chair Wendy Booth were both acclaimed at Friday's monthly board meeting.
Gay, the director for Area C surrounding Cranbrook, has held the chair position for the last five years, while Booth has been serving as vice-chair for four years.
"I enjoy the job and I think they recognize that," said Gay. "I put quite a few hours in and I really try to represent the region fairly."
Booth serves as the director for Area F — the rural areas between Canal Flats and Invermere.
"I look forward to continuing to work with Chair Gay and the Board to advance our priorities for the coming year," she said.
In addition, the board also adopted a 2017 meeting schedule, which will be posted on the rdek.bc.ca website, as well as in offices in Cranbrook and the Columbia Valley.
