A Cranbrook City Councillor has announced she is resigning her seat.

Danielle Eaton made the announcement on her Facebook page, Tuesday, Jan. 29.

“Today I made the decision to resign from City Council,” Eaton wrote. “It was the best decision for me.

“ If I have learned anything in the past few months, it is that I get one chance at this life. I refuse to live one more day with unnecessary stress or unhappiness. Not for anyone. Not for anything. Not for any amount of money.

“This decision has been banging around my head constantly throughout January, and events over the past few days solidified my decision. Today I am at complete peace with my decision. “

Eaton was first elected to Council in 2014, and won a second term in the municipal election on Oct. 20, 2018.
