Cranbrook RCMP arrested two people early Monday morning as part of an ongoing drug investigation.

According to a detachment news release, police initiated a traffic stop in the 10th St. area, finding approximately 600 grams of suspected cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamines after searching the vehicle and a storage locker.

The estimated street value is roughly $90,000.

A 75-year-old Cranbrook resident and a female passenger were released from custody pending ongoing investigation.

“The Cranbrook Enhanced Response Unit, along with members from the Cranbrook Detachment, continues to work toward getting drugs off the street in an effort to curtail the ongoing social damage caused by the sale of these illegal drugs”, said Cst Katie Forgeron.
