DBA holding town hall meeting

Downtown Business Association holding town hall meeting to network, gather ideas for future of downtown core.

The Downtown Business Association is putting out the call to businesses in Cranbrook's downtown core to come out for a local town hall meeting.

There is no agenda or major issue that the organization is raising; it is meant to be a more informal event to attract new members to the group.

In general terms, the DBA is an organization that includes all downtown businesses from 2nd St. S and 17th Avenue, down to Van Horne St. The northern border stops at 4th St. N and 14th Ave., before continuing down 2nd St. N to Balment Park.

The event will run on Thursday, Feb. 11, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the 1710 WorkSpace at 17 10th Ave. S in the downtown Core.

"Share your ideas & perspectives, network with others and help shape the focus of the Downtown Business Association in 2016 & beyond," reads a press release on the event.

Regardless of whether a business is a member of the DBA or not, the group encourages any owners or representatives to attend. However, any businesses that wish to attend must be within the DBA boundaries.

There is no entry fee, but organizers say that space is limited and anyone interested in attending should RSVP to info@cranbrookdba.com.
