Man with broken nose flees bank after trying to break in through a back door

A man having an unlucky streak tried to break in to Scotiabank in Cranbrook on Friday, September 13.

At around 9:20 a.m. on Friday, during the bank's operating hours, the man – who has two black eyes and tape across his nose suggesting it is broken – used a pry bar to try to break in through a back door at Scotiabank on the strip in Cranbrook.

According to an RCMP statement, the man saw bank staff and ran away. Police scoured the area but were unable to locate the man.

As well as the black eyes and white tape across his nose, the man is described as being in his mid 20s, fit-looking, and was wearing jeans and a black hoody.

"The RCMP is asking that if anyone has seen this person or knows who he is or his whereabouts, they are requested to call their local police immediately," said Cpl. Pat Prefontaine in a statement.
