The curling season is indeed well underway at the Cranbrook Curling Club,  in Balment Park by Western Financial Place, having started up in the middle of October. There are currently 12 men's teams, 12 ladies' teams and 12 seniors' teams. Tuesday night is a drop-in, fun night, to which everyone is invited to come out and throw some rocks. Wednesday is men's league, Thursday is ladies' league. Seniors curl Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and Friday night features another drop-in evening. The junior curlers take to the ice Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. So come and check out all the curling action the club has to offer.

And this weekend the club is hosting an open cash spiel, which has been taking place for the past three years. Four local teams and 15 teams from out of town are taking part. There are two draws tonight (Friday), curling all day on Saturday, and two more draws on Sunday.
