Cranbrook’s Tyson Hirscher is World Champion

Local athlete wins gold at the WKKC World Championships in Dublin, Ireland.

Cranbrook’s Tyson Hirscher is number one in the world. The local athlete, who trains with Evolution Martial Arts, Rocky Mountain Academy of Martial Arts and Fitness Inc., won gold at the World Karate and Kickboxing Commission World Championships held in Dublin, Ireland on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Hirscher was competing in the 16-17-year-old Class (the plus-70 kg category), and was awarded gold, by unanimous decision. Watch the Daily Townsman next week for more.
