The U19 Cranbrook Heat are B.C. champions after winning the gold medal at provincials this past weekend in Richmond.

Despite a shortened bench of only 10 players, the Heat went undefeated in four round robin games and three playoff games to earn a berth into the final, which they won.

A couple of the games were very close with a few comeback efforts, but with a little grit and determination, they were able to persevere.

The girls earned their berth into the tournament after quailfying by beating two West Kootenay teams a few weeks ago.

The majority of this team has been together for many years and it shows in the communication on and off the field.
