An individual was apprehended after Cranbrook RCMP responded to a weapons complaint at a residence on King St. n the early evening on Nov. 27

The residence was "quickly contained" by Cranbrook RCMP, the regional containment team, the General Investigation Section and an RCMP drone.

As part of the tactical response, a wide perimeter was established and traffic ws limited in the immediate area.

Police say there was no risk to the general public outside the residence during the incident.

“We certainly appreciated the public’s patience and social media sharing with respect to the traffic interruptions” said Staff Sgt Barry Graham.

“We would also like to ask that specific details of police tactical response not be shared on social media as it may not only compromise the safety of the officers but, the very people we are responding to help.”
