Four individuals have been arrested after a truck was stolen out of the Columbia Valley region on Friday.
Cranbrook RCMP, along with assistance from Kimberley RCMP, made the arrests on a local forest service road, along with help from a local helicopter.
The stolen truck, a black F350 dually, was stolen out of the Columbia Valley area early Friday (May 19) morning, according to a Cranbrook RCMP news release.
Cranbrook RCMP set up a spike belt and containment area, which the suspect vehicle was able to evade.
At some point, the stolen truck was joined by another vehicle, a silver F150, which also avoided police.
However, both vehicles were later located and a second spike belt was deployed, and with the help of a local helicopter, police were able to find them and take four individuals into custody.
”The suspects located in the vehicles are persons of interest in a series of thefts in and around the Cranbrook area”, says Cst Katie Forgeron. “They remain in police custody at this time as we continue to investigate”.
“Police are also asking anyone who might have picked up some tools in the Highway 95A and Tata Creek Rd area to contact them as the tools were also stolen and fell out of the suspect vehicle.
“If you located the tools we ask that you reach out to the Kimberley RCMP, or drop them off at the detachment”.
