A house on 4th Street South in Cranbrook was destroyed by fire Friday afternoon, and the neighbouring house damaged.
The house on the 2500 block was heavily ablaze by the time fire and emergency crews arrived. The adjacent structure was impacted by the flames.
Cranbrook Fire and Emergency Services officials said one occupant escaped the building, according to a social media post by Cranbrook Professional Fire Fighters Local 1253,but there were e no injuries to any of the occupants or firefighters.
The Emergency Support Service program was activated for two people.
Crews are still investigating the cause of the blaze.
