Two homes burn in Park Royal neighbourhood

Cranbrook firefighters responded to a house fire in the Park Royal neighbourhood on Monday afternoon (July 8, which had spread to a neighbouring home.

Firefighters received the call in the early afternoon and responded immediately to the fire  in the1900 block of Mount Nelson Crescent on Monday, July 8. Upon arrival, a full page out to all staff was made to fight the fire, which had spread to an adjacent home.

“There are no reported injuries,” says Scott Driver, Director of Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services.

“We wish to thank the quick response of the Cranbrook RCMP, the BC Wildfire Service, BC Emergency Health Services (EHS), and Emergency Support Services through the Regional District of East Kootenay (RDEK).”

At the scene, one home appeared to be totally engulfed, while an adjacent home sustained damage as well.

Fire and Emergency services were on scene, as are Cranbrook RCMP and B.C. Emergency Health services. Firefighters stayed at the scene to ensure the fire is fully extinguished and put out any remaining hot spots.

Cranbrook Fire & Emergency Services is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
