Clock tower work will cause delays this weekend

Water crews from the city's Public Works department will be continuing work on the clock tower project Friday and Saturday.

The area of Baker Street near the clock tower will be further impeded for both vehicle and pedestrian traffic as work continues on the clock tower square project over the weekend.

Public Works water crews will be continuing work on the project Friday and Saturday (Oct. 17 and 18).

The city said the work will happen on Baker Street between 9th Avenue South and 10th Avenue South, as crews tie in the new water main to the water system in front of the Royal Bank.

As a result, the sidewalk in front of the Royal Bank will be closed and access to businesses around the Clock Tower Square will be limited. Pedestrians are asked to use the sidewalk on the opposite side of Baker Street.

The city asks that drivers and pedestrians avoid the area if possible Friday and Saturday, but if you must travel through that area, please follow and respect the  signage and the direction of flaggers on scene. Expect delays.

The city apologizes for any inconvenience and appreciates the patience of both the businesses affected and the public.
