Castlegar RCMP arrested a 57-year-old Castlegar man after drug trafficking items were found during the execution of a search warrant.
According to a police statement, a search warrant for a house in the 1600 block of Silverwood Crescent was obtained as part of an investigation into drug trafficking.
The statement says that a July 17 search uncovered drugs believed to be fentanyl and methamphetamine as well as Canadian Currency and other items consistent with the trafficking of illicit drugs.
Two occupants were located at the property but only one was taken into police custody.
The Castlegar man was later released from custody.
Castlegar RCMP are continuing their investigation and say the matter will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution Services of Canada for full charge assessment.
