The Interior Health Authority and the City of Cranbrook have officially rescinded the boil water advisory put in place on Sept. 22 after a north trunk water main broke.

The advisory was issued for residents of north Cranbrook, including Park Royal and Panorama Heights neighbourhoods, Steepleview Dr. NW, Wildstone Developments, River’s Crossing, Shadow Mountain, and a portion of the industrial area extending to Hurry Ave.

Residents were advised to bring water used for drinking, washing and brushing to a rolling boil for a minimum of one minute, and to run the taps clear if water was cloudy.

City of Cranbrook public works department discovered a leak in the trunk water main on Sept.22. Crews worked through the night and successfully repaired the water main the next day, but a boil water advisory remained for many days.
