Lightning strikes keep wildfire crews busy

Kootenay East MLA will serve as critic for energy and mines ministry.

The BC Liberal party announced its shadow cabinet late last week — those MLAS who will work as critics for various government ministries.

As reported earlier today , the off-road vehicle ban is now in effect.

Columbia River Revelstoke MLA Doug Clovechok told the Bulletin Friday morning that effective noon today, Friday, August 4, the BC Wildfire Service will prohibit the use of off-road vehicles (quads, dirt bikes etc.) in the Cariboo, Kamloops and Southeast Fire Centres.

Kootenay East MLA would like to see temporary off-highway vehicle ban given fire risk.

No property damage, however, investigators suspect the blaze was human-caused.
