The start of the Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo, 2024

More than 400 riders set forth from St. Eugene on their trek around the near East Kootenay, Saturday, Sept. 7

It was as beautiful day as could be hoped for, and an auspicious beginning to the ninth Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo, Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino.

More than 400 riders set forth from St. Eugene on their trek around the near East Kootenay: 152 km (the Gran leg), the Medio (102) km, and 58 km (the Piccolo). The riders ended up at St. Eugene as well.

The Rotary Club of Cranbrook Sunrise Kootenay Rockies Gran Fondo is the largest cycling event in the region and raises funds for local causes.
