Steel Panther, Buckcherry to play Cranbrook

California bands will play Western Financial Place on April 22

California bands Steel Panther and Buckcherry are bringing hair-raising metal and rock to Cranbrook in April.

The bands play Cranbrook's Western Financial Place on April 22 on The Northern Exposure Tour.

Both bands made a splash in the music industry in the 2000s and are reviving iconic hits.

Metal band Steel Panther broke into music in 2009 with their debut album Feel The Steel. Produced by Jay Ruston, it featured guest appearances by Corey Taylor of Slipknot, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Justin Hawkins of The Darkness and Scott Ian of Anthrax. The band recently released a 15th anniversary edition of the album.

Steel Panther quickly rose to fame with debut single Death To All But Metal, with edgy lyrics that proclaimed the genre superior to pop music and iconic lines like "heavy metal's back." They won support from fans and critics with top hits like Asian Hooker, Community Property and Girl From Oklahoma.

Lead vocalist Michael Starr (Ralph Saenz), lead guitarist Satchel (Russ Parish) and drummer Stix Zadinia (Darren Leader) are still involved with the band. Bassist Spyder (Joe Lester) joined the band in 2022 as a replacement for Lexxi Foxx (Travis Haley).

Hard-rock band Buckcherry celebrated the deluxe release of its multi-platinum album 15 in January, in celebration of its 20th anniversary. 15 was released in 2006, and hit tracks like Sorry, Everything and Next 2 You helped revive the band after a hiatus beginning in the early aughts.

The band is still headed up by founder and lead vocalist Josh Todd. Guitarist Stevie Dacanay was added to the crew in 2005, and guitarist Billy Rowe, bassist Kelly Lemieux and drummer Francis Ruiz joined them on stage in the last decade or so.

Buckcherry will embark on a tour in anticipation of their 11th studio album Roar Like Thunder, which hits the market on June 13. A video for the album's feature track is being filmed in Los Angeles in February, ahead of the release on March 13.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, Feb. 14. For more information, visit tickets.cranbrook.ca
