The rain didn't dampen spirits at the Spirit of the Rockies parade in Cranbrook on Saturday, June 21. Dozens of floats along with parade staples such as the Kimberley Pipe Band and the Carlaw Clydes lined the streets of Cranbrook. The festival's theme this year was "Spirit of Stories: Celebrating 100 years of the Cranbrook Public Library" which is marking its centennial in the Key City this year. After the parade ended, festivities continued at the fairgrounds in Balment Park, which included the Strongman competition, the Weiner dog races, and the bocce tournament. Out on the central fairgrounds bands were taking to the three stages all day long, and BCDC closed out Saturday with a hard rockin' concert.
