A man is facing numerous charges after a robbery attempt near Wycliffe

According to a release from the Cranbrook RCMP, shortly after 1 a.m. on January 30, 2025, police received a report of an unknown man with a firearm outside a residence in the Wycliffe area.

Cranbrook RCMP members rushed to the scene and, upon arrival, observed the suspect flee on foot. Members quickly located the suspect nearby and took him into custody.

The man was held for Court and later released with a scheduled appearance at Cranbrook Provincial Court on February 18, 2025.

Cranbrook RCMP have proposed nine different charges, including Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats, Mischief and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.

The suspect was known to the occupants of the residence, and it is believed to be a targeted incident.
